Dive into my Artworks and Projects

About me...

My name is Anina Merle Bleyhl.
Born in Germany
Raised in East London, South Africa, and Beijing, China.
Which has furnished me with a rich international perspective. My formal training in product design within the textile industry, coupled with my ongoing studies at Reutlingen University as a textile designer, has deeply informed my creative approach.

The smoke of forgetting

This project involved working with AI. I used artificial intelligence to help me generate various temples (memories from my childhood). And then put them together to create a collage. In my application example with the tablecloth, I wanted to depict the overstimulation and the associated forgetting. That threatens humanity with the incorrect use of artificial intelligence.

the shape

the beautiful shapes of a womans body.

The future of the body

This project was about the future of the body and how I imagine it. The food industry is making people addicted with various addictive factors for our bodies. The two biggest factors are sugar and fat. In the drawings I depicted these in the form of oversized gummy bears, pizza and hot dogs. The brain and the heart melt under the shown sugar and fat components.

Product drawing

The various products are drawings that I have created with black ink.

Healing Project

The Robert Bosch Hospital is a pioneer in integrating art and colour with the patient recovery. Research has proven that different colours have a positive affect on the human psyche. In my designs, I have artfully combined a palette of soothing and vibrant colors with elements from nature. These patterns are crafted not only to enhance the aesthetics of the hospital environment but also to foster the healing atmosphere.

British School of Beijing

The artwork displayed below is from a project I created for my final year in the Higher Level Arts program of the International Baccalaureate. My objective was to highlight the issue of excessive plastic consumption through the creation of a knitted vest made from recycled plastic bags. This piece was featured in a magazine, which was distributed across numerous shops throughout Beijing.

Prints

The prints shown were created using packaging material and acrylic paint, creating a fascinating palette of possibilities to create unique shapes. These techniques allowed me to reinterpret traditional printing methods.
